Now that the public squabble is over, and Viacom programming is once again part of the DirecTV’s lineup, the question begs to be of answered of small business owners, “how would you have handled it”? However warranted; would you be prepared for public battles with a problem customer? If the answer is “no”, you might think to put a scenario in place for just such a case. Even if you’re not on the level of a DirecTV or Viacom company, it never hurts to be prepared, or at least to entertain how you might handle a difficult decision resulting in uncomplimentary attention to your business. Certainly the goal should be to nip any potential issues in the bud before they occur but when that isn’t possible, you shouldn’t be caught off guard.
