As business owners and networking enthusiasts, it's not usual for us to be out and about talking about our business to any one who cares to listen. These opportunities allow us to meet new customers and potential business partners. So the question to ask yourself is, "are my teeth blue?". We have to be mindful of how our brand translates in the overall scheme of things. How do we fair in our online reputation? Is our customer service follow up and brand delivery in line with what we promise our customers? All of the tools we use to tell the story should be in tact. Most importantly, our overall perception to the people we meet. Would the person I'm talking to remember my business message or my cobalt blue tongue? I think the latter.
I believe there are valuable lessons to be learned from every experience. The two i came away with were to either refrain from he pretty shiny things while networking or bring a toothbrush for such cases of indulgence. Hey. I just thought of another. Bring along a friend whose not afraid to tell it to you straight.
