Brand it like “Google”
I’m fascinated by Google. They are a MONSTER, in a good way. Putting it simplistically, they have transformed the world as we knew it with their internet technology, business productivity suites and brand recognition.
Google is not just a master in the technological area but also in being on the cutting edge of trends and in branding themselves. The phrase “Just Google It” is synonymous with finding whatever your heart desires on the internet. How do they do it? They do it strategically and with forethought while all the while staying true to their brand recognition. As business owners, it’s important to acknowledge that branding is not solely connected to the colors of the logo. Branding is far more intricate than that. Branding is related to our overall experience. It’s our customer experience, our perception, our identity and more importantly the resulting action we take when we think of that brand.
As I logged on to my account today, I was greeted with a fun and colorful representation of the “Google” logo for my home search screen. It certainly wasn’t the first time I’d seen Google take the initiative to transform their brand logo to the cause at hand, but it prompted me to think and take action. I clicked on it. Today’s rendition was dedicated to Mr. Keith Haring. I’d never heard of Mr. Haring before but because of Google’s tribute to him on what would have been his 54th birthday, I did some research to see why he warranted such a distinction. Though I’d seen this artist’s rendition before, it was just interesting graphics to me. You learn something new every day and Google makes it easy to do using their search platform. Learn about Keith Haring like I did today.
